WORCESTER, Mass. – Bentley fell on the road to Assumption 14-11 on Tuesday night in a battle of nationally ranked teams.
The Falcons came into the evening ranked 13
th by the USILA and the Greyhounds 19
th.
Will Adams had a hat trick for Bentley and
Nathan Alviti,
David Gagnon and
Hunter Smith each scored twice.
Bentley led 11-7 after
Jack O'Rourke scored at the 6:58 mark of the third quarter but the Greyhounds closed the game on a 7-0 run.
The first half featured lengthy runs by both teams.
Assumption jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the opening eight-plus minutes of the game. But Bentley countered with a 6-0 run that stretched into the second quarter to take a 6-4 lead.
The lead was 8-6 at halftime after goals by Alviti and Adams in the final minutes of the half.
