WALTHAM, Mass. – It was a successful Senior Day all-around for the #13 ranked Bentley men's lacrosse team with a 14-9 victory over Saint Michael's.
Nathan Alviti, one of 18 student-athletes recognized on the day, scored a season-high four goals to lead the Bentley attack.
Will Adams, another senior, chipped in with two goals and two assists.
Charlie David, a junior, matched his total for the season coming into the afternoon with a four-goal effort.
Defensively,
Alex Parton, a senior captain, had three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Dalton MacKinnon helped the Falcons control possession with a 14-22 day in the faceoff circle.
Bentley dominated the first half and led 4-0 after the first quarter and 8-1 at halftime.
Four different Falcons found the back of the net in the opening 15 minutes; Adams, David,
Keegan Roberts and Alviti.
David's second goal of the game at 8:13 of the 2
nd quarter made it a 5-0 game before the Purple Knights finally scored just over a minute later.
After that goal Bentley went on a 5-0 run that stretched into the final minutes of the third frame. David had two goals in the run, Adams scored once, as did
Quinn Meissner and
Jake Calabro.
Leading 11-3 going into the fourth quarter, Alviti had two goals and
Hunter Smith found the back of the net in the final frame.
With the win Bentley secured the #5 seed in the NE10 playoffs and they will travel to the #4 seed Assumption on April 26 for a first round game.
