WALTHAM, Mass. –
Amanda Davis,
Caitlin Keenan and
Maeve Johnson powered the Bentley offense in an 18-12 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday to finish the regular season undefeated at home.
Davis had six goals and Keenan had six assists.
Maeve Johnson had a game high eight points on five goals and three assists.
A 5-5 game at halftime, Bentley outscored the Owls 9-1 in the third quarter. After the teams traded goals in the opening minute, Bentley scored eight unanswered over the remainder of the quarter to take a 14-6 lead.
Davis had a run of five straight goals during that stretch, with Keenan notching the assist on the first three in a row.
Ava Mule and
Kristy Norko scored goals 24 seconds apart with four minutes remaining in the quarter to finish the run.
The Owls scored three straight to open the fourth quarter, but Bentely responded with a 4-0 run of its own to take an 18-9 lead..
Betsy Norko scored the first two, followed by goals from
Sophia Pope and Johnson.
The win gave #20 ranked Bentley a perfect 7-0 record at home in the regular season and clinched a home game in the first round of the NE10 Championship (April 26).
The Falcons (10-4, 7-2 NE10) close out the regular season on Saturday at #9 Pace.
