WALTHAM, Mass. –
David Gagnon,
Hunter Smith and
Nathan Alviti combined for 12 goals in #14 ranked Bentley's 16-6 home win over Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday night.
Gagnon scored five, Smith tallied four and Alviti had three.
The Falcons improved to 5-3 on the season and evened their NE10 record to 2-2.
Dalton MacKinnon went 20-24 in the faceoff circle and collected 17 ground balls.
Kyle Piersiak had a game high three caused turnovers and
Ryan Bordiere earned the win in the cage.
Bentley started fast with a 4-0 lead after the opening seven-plus minutes, with goals coming from
Nick McGovern, Smith, Alviti and
Will Adams.
Gagnon scored a man-up goal and Alviti bagged his second to give Bentley a 6-0 lead with just over 11 minutes gone in the opening quarter.
Bentley blanked SNHU 4-0 in the second quarter to lead 10-2 at halftime. Gagnon had two goals and Smith and
Garrett Witt had the other goals.
SNHU scored the first two goals of the third quarter but the Falcons proceeded to go on a 6-1 run that extended into the fourth quarter to open up a 16-5 lead.
The Falcons will be back at home on Saturday when they host AIC at 1:00 pm for Alumni Day.
