MANCHESTER, N.H. –
Sam Capobianco won the gold medal in the 5000 meter race and
Ryan Orr and
Hayden MacArthur medaled in the 800 on the final day of the Northeast 10 Men's Track and Field Outdoor Championship.
Capobianco's time of 15:23.59 was just over one second better than the silver medalist from Southern Connecticut.
It was his second individual medal and third overall after a silver in the 1500 and a gold with the 4x800 relay on Friday.
Two of his teammates in the 4x800 relay, Orr and MacArthur, competed in maybe the closest race of the championship in the 800.
The top three were separated by just .54 seconds. Orr took the silver medal (1:53.69) and MacArthur the bronze (1:53.91). The winner was Jonathan Volpe from Southern Connecticut (1:53.37).
Also scoring for Bentley on Saturday was
Max Lampe in the 5000 in seventh (15:43.04),
Sam Balsis in the 400 hurdles in seventh (1:01.43) and
Andrew Goehrig in the 400 in seventh (50.05).
The Falcons were sixth in the 4x400 relay with the team of
Isaiah Decias, Goehrig, MacArthur and Orr finishing in 3:27.58.
