WALTHAM, Mass. – Reigning Northeast 10 MVP
Rashon Bradford eclipsed 100 receiving yards for the first time this season, but the Bentley football team lost to Franklin Pierce, 35-21, Saturday afternoon on Yetten Field.
Bradford had nine catches for 114 yards, both season highs. He caught his first touchdown of the season just a couple of minutes before halftime. The scoring play was the first touchdown pass in the young career of sophomore quarterback
Luke Warnock.
Warnock also connected with
Pat Damon for a 10-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter. Warnock finished the game with a career-high 271 passing yards in addition to his first two touchdown passes.
Damon caught seven of Warnock's 27 completions for a total of 86 receiving yards. The graduate tight end, who was named a Don Hansen All-American honoree last year, is up to 17 receptions through three games this season.
Bentley's third touchdown of the game was a two-yard rush by
Telly Edouard with less than two minutes left in the game.
Henry Schouten led Bentley's defensive efforts with 11 tackles and a sack.
Jakob Flores came up with an interception, and
Mike DiPlacido recorded his second interception in as many weeks.
Eman Nda made a big special teams play, blocking a punt in the middle of the second quarter. It allowed Bentley take over possession on the Ravens' 35-yard line. However, that drive stalled without putting points on the board.
The Falcons are on the road next week, Sept. 27, at American International. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
