COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Bentley men's swimming and diving team opened the second half of its season with a 191-96 victory at St. Michael's on Thursday.
Four different swimmers won two events,
Leighton Wielgoszinski,
Daniel Ivanchikov,
Ethan Rehkopf and
Thomas Miele.
Wielgoszinski won both the 1000 and 500 free races. He won the 1000 free by more than 25 seconds at 9:54.52.
Ivanchikov was victorious in the 50 free and 200 back. He won the 200 back with a time of 1:58.78.
Rehkopf touched first in the 100 free and 100 fly. He won the 100 free by nearly three seconds with a time of 48.49.
Miele was victorious in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke races. The 200 race went down to the wire with Miele winning by less than one second over SMC's Hunter Daily (2:22.07).
Owen Angkatavanich swept the 1 and 3 meter dives.
Other winners for the Falcons were
Alex Kosel in the 200 free, Matt Walden in the 100 back and Zach Ellis in the 200 IM.
Bentley improved to 5-1 in dual meets with the win. They next compete on January 13 at WPI.
