White wins gold in 1000 free and 800 free relay takes silver on first night of NE10 Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Taylor White won the gold medal in the 1000 freestyle on night one of the Northeast 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

White also swam the leadoff leg as the 800 free relay team won the silver medal.

White, who was the bronze medalist in the 1000 last year, won this year's race with a time of 10:32.14, more than five seconds better than the second place swimmer.

Two Falcons finished in the top-five. Samantha Jackson was fourth and Grace Motisi was fifth.

In the 800 free relay, White and Motisi swam the first two legs. They were followed by Skyla Lang and Fotini Anastasiadou. The team's overall time was 7:47.95. Southern Connecticut took the gold medal.

Bentley is in second place with 104 points after the first night of the meet. Southern Connecticut leads the way with 127 points.
