WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's basketball team never trailed when it beat Assumption, 77-62, in a Northeast 10 game Saturday afternoon.
The first points of the game came from an
Ivan Misic 3-pointer, and the Falcons (17-7, 10-5 NE10) held the lead for the rest of the game.
Bentley's first double-digit lead was 19-8 when
Osiris Nalls scored in the paint with 12:44 on the clock.
Cooper Farrall's 3-pointer from the right wing gave Bentley its largest lead of the first half, 27-12, with just over nine minutes left in the opening half. The Falcons took a 37-26 lead into halftime.
Assumption (14-10, 9-6 NE10) cut its deficit to seven points, 42-35, five minutes into the second half. Misic and Nalls scored on consecutive Bentley possessions to get the advantage back to double digits, 46-36.
Bentley's lead didn't dip below nine points for the rest of the game.
Farrall scored a team-high 19 points, and he added nine rebounds.
Cash McClure had 17 points and eight boards, and Misic finished 14 points.
Joe Carroll chipped in 14 points off the bench.
The Falcons committed only eight turnovers, marking their eighth game with fewer than 10 turnovers. They're the best team in the conference at taking care of the ball, averaging just 10.1 turnovers per game. Â
Bentley shot 51.0-percent from the floor, its 10
th game shooting at least 50.0-percent this season.
The Falcons are back at home Wednesday, Feb. 18, to take on Pace at 7:30 p.m.
