MANCHESTER, N.H. –
Caitlin Keenan scored four goals but Bentley was beaten by #22 ranked Saint Anselm 18-13.
In addition to Keenan's four goals,
Natalia Dutkewych had a hat trick and
Callie Burchill scored twice.
Trailing by four at halftime, Bentley pulled to within three after consecutive goals by Keenan and Dutkewych. That cut the deficit to 12-9 with 5:44 remaining. But Saint Anselm responded with a 2-0 run of its own, before Bentley's
Caroline Jadul scored the final goal of the quarter.
That made it 14-10 in favor of the Hawks at the end of three.
The teams traded 2-0 runs to start the fourth frame to make the score 16-12 with 7:26 remaining after a goal by Keenan.
But the Hawks went on another 2-0 run to take an 18-12 lead with 4:54 to play.
Bentley (4-6, 2-2 NE10) next plays on Saturday at home against Franklin Pierce.
