WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore
Autumn Mathews was named the Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Mathews had a season-high five caused turnovers in Bentley's 16-11 victory over Saint Michael's on April 21. That's tied for the second most in a single game by a player in the NE10 this season. She added five ground balls in the win.
Mathews previously won this award on March 23.
Bentley's win over Southern Connecticut in the NE10 quarterfinals on Saturday did not count towards this award, but in that game she had two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
On the season she is first in the NE10 in ground balls (41) and tied for third in caused turnovers (29).
The Falcons next play Pace in the NE10 semifinals on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
