WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 10 Bentley baseball team prepares for a historic week as it hosts the NCAA DII East Regional starting Thursday, May 14. It is the program's first NCAA Championship appearance. The Falcons won their first ever Northeast 10 title Sunday (May 10) by beating Southern New Hampshire, 11-9, up in Manchester.

The region
With a 39-13 overall record, Bentley is the #1 seed in the NCAA DII East Region. The Falcons host #4 Wilmington (Del.) and #5 Goldey-Beacom. Molloy is the #2 seed, and it hosts #3 Southern New Hampshire and #6 Felician this week. Bentley has an 8-0 combined record this year against East Region qualifiers. The Falcons posted a 6-0 record against SNHU, and they won two games against Molloy in Boca Raton, Florida (March 8-9).

Top 10
The Falcons are ranked No. 10 in the nation by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). It is the first time ever that the Bentley program is ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation.

Bentley's .342 team batting average ranks 11
th in the nation, and its .551 slugging percentage ranks 10
th. What's more, the Falcons' 84 home runs rank 10
th in NCAA DII, and the team's 490 runs scored ranks 12
th nationally.
Stan DeMartinis III holds Bentley's single season record for home runs (21) and RBI (73), while
Nick Pappas has the program's single season records for hits (91) and runs scored (79). DeMartinis ranks eighth in the nation for home runs, and Pappas is ranked seventh in NCAA DII for runs scored. Pappas' 91 hits are tied for fifth, nationally.

The pitching is just K
Bentley's pitching staff has punched out 468 batters, which ranks third in NCAA DII.
Zach Eigenbrod's 96 strikeouts are a single season Bentley record, and that total ranks seventh in the nation. Earlier this season, Eigenbrod tied a program record by striking out 15 batters in a win over Southern Connecticut (April 3). Senior southpaw
Pat Heber is Bentley's all-time strikeout leader (268).
Sam Belliveau was Bentley's winning pitcher when the Falcons claimed the NE10 crown at SNHU. It was his ninth win of the season – a Bentley record.
Keegan Antelman earned his sixth save of the season in that championship win against the Penmen. It was his 21
st appearance of the season – the most by any Falcon in a single season.

Get jacked with Maydak
Sophomore
Jake Maydak hit his first career home run against Assumption (March 31) this season, and he's been raking ever since. The first baseman enters the NCAA East Regional with six homers and a .496 slugging percentage. Maydak's most recent home run was a three-run shot when Bentley clinched the NE10 crown at SNHU (May 10).

Scouting Wilmington (39-15)
The Wildcats won their second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) title this spring. Tyler Pirrung was named the CACC Player of the Year, and Scott Borgmann is the CACC Pitcher of the Year. Pirrung enters the NCAA DII East Regional hitting .400 with four homers, 51 RBI, and 40 steals. Borgmann holds a 1.63 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 55.1 innings. Chase Fleming has a 3.18 ERA through 56.2 innings, and Dylan Potero's ERA is 2.45 through 51.1 innings. Cam Trego leads the team in home runs (12) and RBI (54).

Scouting Goldey-Beacom (33-22)
The Lightning are making the program's fourth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance. Goldey-Beacom lost to Wilmington, 12-3, in the CACC Championship final. Pitchers Connor Blence and Kory Williams were named to the All-CACC First Team. Blence holds a 3.05 ERA through 73.2 innings, and Williams carries a 3.29 ERA through 76.2 innings. Roman Keith and Jamie Neris, Jr. both have nine home runs this season, and Neris has swiped 17 bags. Keith's 50 RBI lead the Lightning.
