Black, Castagna and Hjartarson named to CSC Academic All-District team

WALTHAM, Mass. - Three players from the Atlantic Hockey champion Bentley hockey team, Jake Black, Stephen Castagna and Kellan Hjartarson, were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large team for Division I.

The Academic All-District Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

Black, who advanced to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration, was the team's leading scorer with 41 points on 19 goals and 22 assists. He was named first team All-Atlantic Hockey and a New England All-Star.

Castagna was the team captain as the Falcons won their second straight AHA championship and first ever regular season championship. He tallied 11 goals and 20 assists and was voted second team All-Atlantic Hockey.

Hjartarson, an assistant captain, was voted Atlantic Hockey's Best Defensive Forward. He led the squad with 24 assists and added 10 goals.
