Matthew Velasquez

Matthew Velasquez is in his fifth season as an assistant coach on the Bentley women's lacrosse staff. He previously worked as an assistant coach at Bentley from 2019-22.

Velasquez was a part of the 2021 coaching staff that led the Falcons to the first NE10 championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The team was 33-18 from 2019-22 and made the NE10 playoffs each season.

Velasquez came to Bentley having previously been the Goalie's Coach at two NE10 rivals of Bentley, Southern New Hampshire University and Merrimack College. He was on the Penmen's staff for the 2016-17 season, and on Merrimack's staff for the 2015-16 season. Prior to those stops he was an assistant coach at Emerson College from 2012-15, where he was the Goalie Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Several of his student-athletes earned All-Conference accolades during his tenure at Emerson.
