No. 20 Florida Southern Tops Bentley in Final Florida Match

LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 20 ranked Florida Southern improved its record to 12-3 on the season with a 7-0 victory over the Bentley men's tennis team on Thursday.

The Mocs, out of the Sunshine State Conference, have won nine matches in a row.

The Falcons fall to 3-3 on the season and conclude their Florida trip with a 1-2 record.

The No. 2 doubles match between Bentley's Nikoai Pran (Oslo, Norway) and Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore.) and the Mocs' Mario Garoz and Ryan Rajakar was a tight one, with Southern's team taking a close 7-6 decision. That team improved to 10-5 on the season with the victory.

In singles, the Moc's No. 1 singles player Chris Fok Kow had a battle with Bentley's Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill), but emerged with a 6-2, 6-4 win.

In No. 2 singles, Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla.) battled with Inaki Braun Simo but fell to 6-1, 7-6.

Pran took on Alex Fascio in No. 4 and played a close match, but dropped it 6-3, 7-5. In No. 6, Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) fell to Ed Melindo 6-2, 7-6.

Bentley will be back on the courts on March 28 at Assumption.
