WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley senior
Caitlin Burmester added to her mantle when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named her the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.

Burmester won the NCAA D-II East Region title by nearly 10 seconds in Rochester, N.Y. (Nov. 9), cross the finish line in 21:52.9.
She was also named the NE10 Women's Runner of the Year after leading the Bentley women's cross country team to its first-ever NE10 Championship title. Burmester placed second in the NE10 title race (Oct. 27) with a time of 22:04.23.
Burmester's 2024 fall season also included a top finish among all NCAA D-II runners in the New Englands (Oct. 11) in Hopkinton, N.H.
She's not done yet. Burmester is training for her second consecutive NCAA D-II Championship appearance. The national title race is in Sacramento, Calif., Nov. 23.
