Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. – No. 9 ranked Bentley won its second straight game over a ranked team with a 12-6 road victory over No. 18 Frostburg State on Wednesday.
The Falcons improved to 2-1 on the season and have a showdown with No. 5 Adelphi at home coming up on Saturday.
A goal by Jayce Lambert at the 8:44 mark of the 1st quarter gave Bentley a 2-1 lead, a lead that they would not relinquish.
Lambert had a team high three goals and Conor Segreti and Garrett Witt each scored two.
Cam Bartolomeo had a big day in the faceoff circle by going 12-17 with nine ground balls.
The Falcons methodically extended their lead in the 2nd quarter. Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro scored at the 13:53 mark, followed by Lambert at 6:18 and Kyle Piersiak at 5:14 for a 5-1 lead.
Frostburg pulled a goal back with 1:15 remaining in the half, but Lambert scored with just 19 seconds left on the clock for a 6-2 Falcons lead at halftime.
Segreti opened the second half with two quick goals inside the opening three-plus minutes for an 8-2 lead.
A goal by Frostburg's Chase Buckwalter made it a 9-4 game at 7:38 of the 3rd quarter, but Bartolomeo won the ensuing faceoff and scored himself to make it 10-4.
Nathan Alviti closed the quarter with a goal with just five seconds left.
Witt netted his second of the game 4:02 into the 4th quarter.
Falcons goalie Jackson Tinsley made seven saves to earn the win.
