WALTHAM, Mass. –
Kyle Piersiak was named the Northeast 10 Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week and
Harrison Murray was selected as the Rookie of the Week after helping Bentley to a 2-0 week.
Piersiak, a senior and a preseason USILA All-America, is the Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year.
He led Bentley's defensive efforts in wins over Southern New Hampshire and AIC where they limited their opponent to just six and seven goals, respectively. He totaled six caused turnovers and seven ground balls in the two contests. Piersiak also got involved offensively with one goal and one assist against the Penmen.
On the season he is tied for second in the NE10 in caused turnovers (23) and is seventh in ground balls (55).
Murray totaled six goals, four assists and 10 points to lead the Falcons in each category. He notched a season-high four goals, plus two assists, in the win over SNHU and scored two goals against AIC.
Through 10 games he is second on the team in assists (10) and points (22) and tied for second in goals (12).
Bentley (5-5, 3-2 NE10) next plays on Saturday at home against Pace for its Senior Day game.
