Burmester pulls off second-place finish in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – In a field full of D-I runners, Caitlin Burmester earned a second-place finish during the UC San Diego Triton Invitational, which concluded Sunday.

Burmester was second to cross the finish line in the women's 1,500-m run, timing in at 4:39.38. She beat D-I runners from programs such as UC San Diego, San Diego State, and Pepperdine.

Burmester also placed 12th in the 800-m by finishing in 2:18.37.

HaiLian Rowan – who holds Bentley's indoor record in the 60-m dash – competed in two events in San Diego. She placed 42nd in the 100-m (12.74), and 68th in the 200-m (28.00).

Mia Bonner competed in the triple jump, where she cleared 10.06-m to place 16th.

Several Falcons competed in the Wilton Wright Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut Saturday.

There, Anna Jones placed fifth in the 5,000-m (20:21.54), and India Haynesworth was 13th in the 400-m (1:08.51).
