Capece Wins Gold in 5000 on Day Two of NE10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Molly Capece won gold in the 5000 meter race on the final day of the Northeast 10 Outdoor Championship.

Capece won by almost four seconds, with her time of 17:56.83 seeing her cross the finish line first to claim the gold medal.

Caitlin Burmester took fourth place in the 800 finals with an outdoor personal best time of 2:14.46.

In the field events, Mia Bonner posted a season best in the triple jump at 10.28 meters.

Adriana Minasian produced a season best in the high jump at 1.40 meters.

The discus saw Emma Massih throw a personal best 30.35 meters and Caitlin Byrne a season best 25.71.

In the shot put, Katie Keegan had a PR of 7.75 meters.

The 4x100 team of Bonner, Maddie Oh, HaiLian Rowan and Hannah Croteau ran a season best 51.93.

The 4x400 team featured Burmester, India Haynesworth, Rowan and Croteau.
