WALTHAM, Mass. –  Following a thrilling road win in the 2024 season opener, the Bentley football team prepares for another game away from Waltham when the Falcons kickoff at Saint Anselm Saturday, Sept. 14, for a non-conference contest. The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

Falcon fantastic comeback
Bentley began its season in a 17-3 deficit at West Chester last Saturday (Sept. 7). Quarterback
Brett Pullman used his feet to score the Falcons' first touchdown of the season late in the fourth quarter. The Falcons' defense came up big in the fourth quarter, forcing and recovering a fumble that set up
Vinnie Holmes' game-tying 15-yard touchdown run. The defense later forced a turnover on downs. From there, the Falcon offense orchestrated the game-winning drive that ended with a 38-yard field goal with no time left on the clock. Bentley had lost its previous two matchups against West Chester, each by one point.

Can he kick it? Yes he can
Mason Campbell was named the NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week for his game-winning kick at West Chester. He also hit a 35-yard field goal late in the second half. Campbell was named the NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week three times in 2023. He ranks eighth as Bentley's all-time leading scorer (190), and he ranks third all-time for made field goals (31).

That dude
Defensive back
Matt Duchemin was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week for a clutch play at West Chester. The Golden Rams had possession and 17-10 lead late in the fourth quarter – all they had to do was run out the clock to win it. However, Duchemin hit West Chester's quarterback in the backfield, forcing a fumble that was recovered by
Nick Pucillo. One play later,
Vinnie Holmes sprinted into the end zone to tie the game.

Local star Pat Damon
Tight end
Pat Damon led the Falcons in receiving yards with 82 against West Chester. During the game-winning drive, he had a huge 34-yard reception that helped set up
Mason Campbell's game-winning kick.
Â
Rene takes 'em down
Rene Nunez had a team-high 10 tackles (4 solo) in the season-opening win at West Chester. He also broke up a pass.

Scouting Saint Anslem (0-1)
The Hawks opened their 2024 season with a closely contested loss, 10-3, against NCAA D-I member Sacred Heart (Sept. 7). Saint Anslem mustered just 87 yards of total offense, but its defense allowed only 86 passing yards. The Hawks have posted 6-4 records in each of the past two seasons, marking the program's first ever back-to-back winning seasons in the modern day era. Saint Anselm returns starting quarterback Anthony Santino from the 2023 squad. He completed just under 61-percent of his pass attempts for 820 yards last fall.
