Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Trottie, Moore nearly lead Falcons to upset over No. 2 East Stroudsburg

WALTHAM, Mass. – Gracie Moore's second goal of the season gave the Bentley field hockey team a 1-0 lead over No. 2 East Stroudsburg, and Mia Trottie totaled nine saves, but the Warriors put two goals in the cage late in the fourth quarter to thwart the Falcons' big upset bid.

Moore provided the game's first goal five minutes into the second quarter, with Lida Coco getting the assist. It was Coco's second assist of the season.

The Warriors' offense opened the game in fury, putting four shots on goal in the first quarter. However, Trottie – a 2023 All-American and the reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Year – was there to make the stop each time.

Trottie made three more saves in the third quarter, allowing Bentley to take its 1-0 lead into the final period. The Warriors broke through with five minutes left in regulation, and then added the game-winner less than three minutes later.

The Falcons have another tough challenge Sunday, Sept. 15, when they host No. 1 Kutztown for a 12 p.m. start.
