Bradford scores three times, Pullman throws for 484 yards against New Haven

WALTHAM, Mass. – Rashon Bradford totaled 197 receiving yards and three touchdown catches, while Brett Pullman threw for 484 yards and five scores, but the Bentley football team came up short against New Haven, 45-35, Saturday afternoon during Falcon Weekend.

Bradford's receiving total ranks ninth all-time in Bentley history for a single game, and Pullman's passing total ranks fourth.

The first touchdown by the Pullman-Bradford duo tied the game, 7-7, with just over five minutes left in the first quarter. The scoring drive needed just nine plays to go 69 yards. Pullman completed an 18-yard pass to Nick Marciano, and a 20-yard pass to Jack Ford.

Following the Ford completion, Pullman ran up the middle for a five-yard gain down to the Chargers' eight-yard line. From there, Pullman connected with Bradford for six points.

The Bentley pair made it happen against before the opening quarter ended. New Haven appeared to be running away with the game when it took a 21-7 lead, but Pullman hit Bradford for a 75-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Pat Damon caught a pass from Pullman and dove into the end zone to tie the game, 21-21. The scored remained tied at halftime.

From the start of the third quarter through most of the fourth, the Chargers scored 17 unanswered points. Bentley's scoring draught ended when Pullman found Isaiah Decias over the middle for a 19-yard touchdown pass with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter.

However, New Haven answered right back 20 seconds later with a 51-yard touchdown run.

The game's big offensive plays weren't over there. With just over two minutes remaining, Pullman found Bradford over the middle of the field for a 77-yard touchdown play.

While Bentley was efficient through the air, New Haven did most of its damage on the ground. The Chargers totaled 406 rushing yards with an average of eight yards per carry.

Henry Schouten, who was previously named the D2football.com National Player of the Week for defense, totaled 10 tackles. Fellow linebacker Nick Pucillo matched that number. Isaiah Gomes added a sack for Bentley.

The Falcons take to the road next week for a conference game at Pace, Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
