WALTHAM, Mass. – After helping the Falcons to a pair of wins, Bentley University sophomore forward
Cooper Farrall (Valparaiso, Ind./Culver Academies) has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.
In victories against defending conference champion St. Michael's and 24th-ranked Assumption, Farrall averaged 21 points, 9.5 rebounds and two assists while shooting .654 overall and making half of his eight three-point attempts. He set career highs for points (26) and rebounds (11) against the Purple Knights, a game in which he scored the Falcons' first 19 points, and had 16 points and eight boards in an 85-64 road win at Assumption.
In his first season as a starter, Farrall is averaging 15.1 points and 7.9 rebounds while shooting .497 from the field. He ranks fourth in the conference in rebounds, sixth in field goal percentage and ninth in scoring, and has four double-doubles.
Farrall saw limited action last year as a freshman, with 25 points in 10 games.
The six-foot five Farrall is the second Falcon to receive Northeast-10 Player of the Week honors this season. Back on Dec. 2, junior guard
Cash McClure (Readfield, Maine/Maranacook HS) received the honor.
Bentley, 8-6 overall after winning seven of its last nine, plays at Franklin Pierce Tuesday night.
