WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley senior
Calvin Ye won three events on Senior Day to lead the men's swimming & diving team to a 187-77 win over Pace Sunday.
Results
Before the start of the meet, Bentley celebrated its seniors:
Eddy Erofeyev,
Tyler Marzano,
Andrew Matjucha,
Kenneth Ryu,
Joey Twomey, and Ye.
Bentley's all-senior 200-medley relay team started off the dual with a win. Ye, Ryu, Twomey, and Marzano combined to post a time of 1:37.60.
Ye won the 100-backstroke by nearly two full seconds, finishing in 52.23 seconds. Later in the meet, Ye won the 100-freestyle in 49.05 seconds.
Ryu won the 100-breaststroke by touching the wall in 1:00.75.
Matjucha won the 1,000-freestyle by timing in at 10:27.95. He finished nearly 15 seconds ahead of the next swimmer, who was fellow senior Twomey (10:42.14).
Daniel Lehr (22.26) was victorious in the 50-freestyle, and
Daniel Ivanchikov (22.38) was close behind in second.
Leighton Wielgoszinski won the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:47.80, and Ivanchikov was close behind in second by touching the wall in 4:48.78.
Even though it was Senior Day, several Bentley freshmen stood out.
Ethan Rehkopf won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:48.91, and
Scott Kessel won the 200-. butterfly with a time of 2:07.86.
Jake Bender won the 100-butterfly with a time of 54.80 seconds.
Owen Angkatavanich won the 1-m dive by posting a score of 199.73.
Bentley can rest for a little while before the Northeast-10 Championships, which start Feb. 13.
