WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophia Poehlein recorded her second double-double of the season to lead the Bentley volleyball team to its 13
th consecutive win with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 25-16) Northeast 10 triumph at Assumption Tuesday night. The Falcons (17-4, 7-0 NE10) remain unbeaten in the region.
Poehlein totaled 15 kills and 12 digs against the Greyhounds. Her first double-double of the season was a 21-kill, 11-dig performance at Adelphi (Oct. 11).
Elizabeth Blinn entered Tuesday's contest as the nation's leader in blocks per set, but it was her hitting that helped Bentley extend its winning streak. She finished the match with 13 kills – her second-best total this season. She had 14 kills against West Texas A&M earlier this season (Sept. 12).
Freshman
Katelyn Rutledge put away 10 kills at Assumption. It was her fourth match with double-digit kills this season. She previously had a stretch of three consecutive matches with 10+ kills when Bentley competed in the Colorado Premier Challenge (Sept. 12-13).
The Falcons aim to continue their winning streak at Southern New Hampshire Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.
