WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley volleyball team won its seventh consecutive match when it beat Southern New Hampshire in straight sets (25-11, 25-20, 25-14) in the Dana Center Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons' defense held SNHU (0-14, 0-1 NE10) to a .022 hitting percentage for the match. The Penmen hit over .000 in only one of the three sets. Conversely, Bentley (11-4, 2-0 NE10) hit .275 overall.
Elena Coban made her return to the court this weekend after suffering an ACL injury nearly one year ago. She put away seven kills against SNHU, which stood as the second-best total for the match. Coban did not make an error, and she finished the game with a .583 attack percentage.
Sophia Poehlein led all players with 16 kills, coming away with a .667 attack percentage.
Elizabeth Blinn entered the month of October as the nation's No. 2 leader in blocks. She totaled six blocks against SNHU. She currently averages 1.76 blocks per set.
Bentley remains unbeaten in the region as it prepares to host Mercy Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m.
