WALTHAM, Mass. – Arguably the best defensive player all of NCAA D-II volleyball, Bentley's
Elizabeth Blinn has been named the Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Week for third time this season, the conference announced Monday.
Blinn is averaging 1.76 blocks per set, which is tied for the D-II lead. Among all three NCAA divisions, Blinn ranks fourth in blocks per set.
The senior from Concord, N.H. had 11 blocks in a three-set win over Assumption (Sept. 30), just one block shy of matching her career high. She added five blocks in Bentley's four-set win over Saint Anselm (Oct. 3), and she totaled six blocks in a sweep over Southern New Hampshire (Oct. 4).
Blinn and the Falcons host Mercy Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m.
