WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's volleyball team is on the verge of a historic conclusion to its regular season. The Falcons (21-4, 8-0 NE10) conclude the 2025 regular season at Saint Michael's Saturday, Nov. 15, with a 12 p.m. start time.
A Bentley win would lock in an undefeated NE10 season and the top seed for the NE10 Championship. Those achievements would be simultaneous to the Falcons' 18
th consecutive victory.
Bentley's last undefeated conference season was in 2005. Legendary coach
Sandy Hoffman led the Falcons to a 29-8 overall record, and a 14-0 mark in the NE10.
The Falcons' last NE10 regular-season title was in 2022, when Bentley was co-champion with American International. AIC held the tie-breaker for the No. 1 seed of the NE10 Championship. The last time Bentley held the top seed heading into the postseason was in 2019.
Bentley has been absolutely dominant during its current 17-match winning streak. Only one of those contests went as far as five sets, and 11 victory during the streak have been sweeps.
The Falcons' defensive efforts have been paramount to their success. The team leads the NE10 in blocks per set (2.45), opponent hitting percentage (.111), and service aces allowed per set (1.41).
Senior
Elizabeth Blinn leads the NE10 in blocks-per-set by a wide margin. Her 1.66 average is head and shoulders above the next-best mark (1.08). What's more, Blinn leads the nation in the category. She has been named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week five times this season.
Sophomore
Tory Vitko has earned NE10 Setter of the Week seven times this season. She ranks second in the NE10 with 9.34 assists per set.
A couple of underclassmen are leading Bentley's attack. Sophomore
Sophia Poehlein ranks second in the NE10 for kills per set (3.65), and freshman
Lulu Pavan ranks fifth (2.97). Poehlein has been named NE10 Player of the Week three times this season, and
Lulu Pavan has twice earned NE10 Rookie of the Week.
