WALTHAM, Mass. – Alaska Anchorage salvaged a series split with Bentley after winning 3-2 on Saturday night despite a third period rally by the Falcons.
Bentley outshot the Seawolves 36-20 on this night but goalie Tyler Krivtsov made 34 saves.
Trailing 2-0 in the third frame the Falcons began to mount a comeback when senior defenseman and Waltham native
Pat Lawn scored a short handed goal at the 9:55 mark.
Ryan Upson put a shot on net from above the faceoff circle that Krivtsov saved, but Lawn was there to score off the rebound.
Alaska Anchorage went back in front by two goals 1:07 later when Judah Makway scored on a tip from a shot by David Jesus to make it 3-1.
With time running out the Falcons brought on an extra attacker and it paid off when freshman
Owen Goodbrand scored with 2:07 remaining. Goodbrand got his stick on a shot by
Michael Mesic and redirected it past Krivtsov for the goal.
Bentley continued to pile on the pressure in the waning seconds and had several good opportunities but Krivtsov was able to keep the puck out.
The Falcons, who are now 6-4-1 on the season, see their seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end.
Bentley next plays on November 21 when they host RIT.
