NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It took less than 24 hours for the No. 10 Bentley women's basketball team to find its shooting touch. The Falcons routed Georgian Court, 86-50, Sunday afternoon. The game was hosted by Southern Connecticut.
Bentley (1-1) shot 11-for-20 (55.0-percent) from 3-point range, one day after shooting 4-for-23 (17.4-percent) from beyond the arc against Mercy (Nov. 15).
Freshman
Ava Orlando led Bentley's dominance from distance. While playing 22 minutes off the bench, Orlando hit five of her six 3-point attempts. She led Bentley in scoring with 15 points.
Niya Morgen made two of her four 3-point shots on her way to 10 points, and freshman
Emily Walker went 2-for-2 from distance. Â
Not only did Bentley improve from 3-point range compared to the season-opener, but the Falcons were more intent on getting to the free-throw line. Bentley went 15-for-19 from the charity stripe against Georgian Court, one day after making just one of five free-throw attempts against Mercy.
Sunday's victory was Bentley's largest margin of victory since Dec. 2024, when the Falcons beat Bloomfield, 86-48.
Bentley opens its Northeast 10 slate at Southern New Hampshire Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 5:30 p.m.
