Morgen's sharp shooting leads No. 23 Bentley to conference win at SNHU

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Niya Morgen scored a season-high 22 points to lead the No. 23 Bentley women's basketball team to a 79-51 triumph at Southern New Hampshire Wednesday evening. It was the first Northeast 10 game of the season for both teams.

Morgen shot 5-for-9 from 3-point range, marking the third time in her Bentley career that she hit at least five 3-pointers in a game. Morgen's career-high for made 3-pointers in a game is six (vs. Chestnut Hill, Dec. 2024).

Bentley held a 40-31 lead at halftime, but its defense was even more locked in for the second half. The Penmen manager just 10 points in each of the third and fourth quarters.

The Falcons held a 45-39 lead midway through the third quarter, but consecutive treys by Morgen pushed Bentley's lead to double digits, 51-39. It was the start of a 13-2 Bentley run to close out the quarter.

Kayana Armbrister scored in double digits for the first time in her young Bentley career. The junior transfer shot 6-for-10 from the floor on her way to 15 points. Mikela Cooper needed only 16 minutes on the floor to pull down a game-high seven rebounds.

The Falcons shot an even 50.0-percent (31-for-62) from the floor, and the defense forced SNHU into 17 turnovers.

Bentley returns to action next week in a non-conference game at College of Staten Island Tuesday, Nov. 25. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
