STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Three different Falcons flirted with a double-double when the No. 21 Bentley women's basketball team toppled the College of Staten Island, 64-41, Tuesday evening.
Niya Morgen scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Kayana Armbrister had a game-high nine rebounds to go with 13 points, and
Brennan Doran finished with nine points and seven rebounds.
Morgen shot 4-for-8 from 3-point range, marking her second consecutive game with at least four 3-point makes. She is shooting 44.8-percent (13-for-29) from distance so far this season.
The Falcons (3-1) were in control from the opening tip, racing out to a 15-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game. Armbrister and Morgen combined for 10 of those opening 15 points.
Bentley held a 34-18 lead at halftime. Staten Island (2-3) was able to keep pace with the Falcons in the third quarter, as both teams scored 17 points in the 10-minute span.
The Falcons' defense forced the Dolphins into 21 turnovers, and Bentley won on the glass, 42-32.
Following the holiday weekend, Bentley is back on the road to take on Molloy Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m.
