No. 24 Bentley falls in non-conference game at SNHU

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The No. 24 Bentley men's basketball team lost a non-conference game at Southern New Hampshire, 79-73, Wednesday night.

Cooper Farrall notched his second double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Osiris Nalls, the reigning Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week, scored 15 points off the bench for Bentley (1-2).

A Joe Carroll jumper just over seven minutes into the game gave Bentley a 17-11 lead, but then the Falcons went scoreless for nearly  five minutes as the Penmen (1-2) went on an 11-0 run. SNHU carried that momentum into the locker room with a 36-33 lead.

One minute into the second half, Bentley reclaimed the lead, 37-36, when Chase Clarke hit a jumper. Thirty seconds later, Cash McClure hit a 3-pointer to give Bentley a 40-38 advantage. Ivan Misic kept the offense rolling drilling a 3-pointer to make it a 43-41 game in favor of Bentley.

However, that was the last time the Falcons held the lead. SNHU went on a 10-1 run and held the lead for the final 16 minutes of the game.

Bentley got to within two points, 69-67, when Misic scored two points on a fast break with 3:33 on the clock. Two minutes later, Bentley remained within striking distance when Nalls hit a layup on a fast break, cutting the deficit to 75-73. Two possessions later, Bentley committed a crucial turnover, the SNHU shot 4-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final 28 seconds of regulation.

Bentley makes its home debut next week, Nov. 25, with a non-conference game against Assumption at 7 p.m.
