WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's
Michael Haikal was named a third team Academic All-America for men's soccer by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Haikal, a senior midfielder from North Easton, Massachusetts, becomes the second player in program history to receive the prestigious honor after Weston Zeiner (2011-2
nd team & 2012-1
st team).
A finance major, Haikal helped lead the Falcons to an outstanding 2025 season. The team won the NE10 regular season championship for the first time since 1995 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1975. Bentley also reached the finals of the NE10 playoffs.
Individually, Haikal was also named an All-America by both the United Soccer Coaches (first team) and D2CCA (third team).
Other major honors include the NE10 Player of the Year and first team All-NE10.
In 17 games this season, he scored eight goals, with five game-winners, and defensively helped Bentley hold opponents to under one goal per game (0.94).
Haikal was the only student-athlete from the Northeast 10 to be named an Academic All-America for men's soccer.
