WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley's Michael Haikal earned another major award for his standout 2025 season, as he was named the Northeast 10 Sport Excellence Award winner for men's soccer on Wednesday.

A midfielder, Haikal led the Falcons to their first NE10 regular season championship since 1995 and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1975.

A finance major, he earned a number of major recognitions for his play on the field and work in the classroom.

He was a CSC third team Academic All-America and the Division II national Scholar Player of the Year from the United Soccer Coaches.

Haikal was also named the NE10 Player of the Year, a first team All-America by the United Soccer Coaches and a third team All-America by D2CCA.

In 17 games, he scored eight goals and helped lead Bentley to 11 wins. The team was ranked 19^th in the final national poll of the season.

To be eligible for Sport Excellence honors, a student-athlete must have been named to the All-Conference team in their respective sport, spent at least two consecutive full-time semesters at their institution and have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better (for both undergraduate and graduate work).
