Elie gets first double-double of season in 66-48 win over Holy Family

WALTHAM, Mass. – Julia Elie notched her first double-double of the season, and Cassidy Yeomans scored a team-high 15 points to lead the No. 18 Bentley women's basketball team to a 66-48 win over Holy Family Sunday afternoon.

The non-conference game was a rematch of last year's NCAA DII East Regional Championship game in which the Falcons were victorious, reaching the Elite Eight for the 15th time in program history.

Elie scored 10 points and pulled down 10 boards in Sunday's game, while Yeomans shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc. Yeomans set a personal best for 3-point makes in a game.

Bentley (6-1) has been superb in the first quarter so far this season, and it was no different Sunday afternoon. When Yeomans hit a 3-pointer with three minutes left in the first quarter, it gave the Falcons a 17-3 lead.

Holy Family (8-3) battled back in the second quarter and tied the game, 27-27. The Tigers' halfcourt trap flustered the Falcons for a good portion of the period. But Yeomans closed out the first half with another 3-pointer, allowing the Falcons to take a 30-27 lead into halftime.

Bentley's lead went back to double digits, 44-34, when Elie hit a jumper with 3:44 left in the third quarter. Elie beat the third-quarter buzzer with a layup that pushed the lead to 51-38.

After starting the season with a loss, Bentley's winning streak is up to six games. Each of the Falcons' wins have been decided by double digits.

Bentley opens 2026 by hosting Daemen on New Year's Day at 2 p.m.
