WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's
Caitlin Burmester was named the Northeast 10 Conference Sport Excellence Award winner for women's cross country on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the Sport Excellence Award, a student-athlete must first be named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team for their sport. One outstanding individual from each sport is then recognized as the Sport Excellence Award winner.
Burmester had an outstanding fall season in cross country. She won the NCAA East Regional championship in early November and qualified for the NCAA Championship for the second straight year.
Prior to that she helped the Falcons win the NE10 Championship for the first time in late October. Individually she finished in second place.
She was named the USTFCCA East Region Runner of the Year and the NE10 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
A double major in accounting and earth, environment, and global sustainability, she was named to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team for the third consecutive year.
Burmester is currently competing in the indoor track and field season.
