MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Stan DeMartinis III hit a walk-off double, and
Brendan Sencaj belted his second home run of the season as the Bentley baseball team split a doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas Friday afternoon.

entley 7, St. Thomas Aquinas 6 (7 inn.)
The Falcons entered the seventh inning in a 6-2 deficit, but they rallied for five runs in the final frame to win the second game of the doubleheader, 7-6.
Tommy Goonan started the rally by drawing a leadoff walk, and
Rene Nunez came in to pinch run for Goonan. Bentley's next two batters,
Curt Heath and David VanderZouwen, reached base by getting hit by a pitch and drawing a walk, respectively.
With the bases loaded and nobody out,
Tommy Bolton was hit by a pitch to force in a run and make it a 6-3 game. The bases remained loaded with nobody out for Sencaj. The first baseman crushed a double to plate Heath and VanderZouwen, bringing Bentley to within a run, 6-5.
Two batters later, DeMartinis ripped a walk-off double to left field, as Bolton scored the tying run and Sencaj scored the winning run.
Jayden Longdin earned his first win of the season after allowing just two earned runs on two hits in his five-inning start.
Jared Berardino went 2-for-4 at the plate for Bentley. He was the only Falcon with multiple hits in the game. Barardino hit an RBI double in the fifth inning.

Bentley 6, St. Thomas Aquinas 13 (9 inn.)
In the first game Friday, St. Thomas Aquinas served as the home team on its way to a 13-6 win.
Bentley trailed 1-0 after two innings, but it scored three times in the third.
Curt Heath led off with a single, and two batters later
Tommy Bolton drew a walk.
Brendan Sencaj promptly followed with a double that scored both runners, giving Bentley a 2-1 lead. The next batter,
Jared Berardino, also hit a double to push the lead to 3-1.
St. Thomas Aquinas got a run back in the bottom of the third, and it rallied for four runs in the fourth.
Trailing 8-3 after five innings, Bentley scored twice in the sixth frame.
Stan DeMartinis III led off with a walk, and
Nick Pappas followed by hitting a double.
A sacrifice fly by
Jack Matthews allowed DeMartinis to score, and
Patrick Purcell's base hit brought Pappas home.
Sencaj crushed his second home run of the season to lead off the seventh inning. He finished the game 2-for-5 at the plate, and Heath went 3-for-3.
Bentley remains in Myrtle Beach to take on Bridgeport Saturday, Feb. 22, at 10:30 a.m.
