Box Score 2 WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley split on its third day in Florida with an 8-4 victory over Bemidji State and a 3-0 defeat to Wayne State.
In the win over Bemidji, the Falcons rallied from 4-0 down with eight runs in the 7
th inning to take the victory.
In the 7
th inning 14 batters came to the plate.
The rally began in earnest when
Jess Morrison doubled to left center to bring home
Carly DiMento and
Katie Welch to make it a 4-3 game.
Two batters later
Bella Burke reached base and Morrison scored on the play to tie the game 4-4.
Jordan Krause then laced a single to right center to score Burke and the Falcons led 5-4.
After
Hailey Feiler walked,
Maddie Baker doubled down the left field line to score Krause and
Michelle Diaz to make it 7-4. The next batter,
Kim Saunders reached and Baker scored on the play to make it 8-4.
Maddie Pickett pitched four innings of one run ball to earn her first career win.
Riley Piromalli pitched a perfect 7
th inning to finish the game.
In their first game of the day Bentley fell to Wayne State 3-0. Piromalli pitched her third complete game of the trip. She struck out four and seven innings of work.
The Falcons sit at 3-3 after six games in the Sunshine State and have four left, two on Thursday and two on Friday. They face Slippery Rock and Minnesota-Mankato on Thursday.
