HOOKSETT, N.H. –
Michelle Diaz collected four hits in the doubleheader but Bentley dropped both games to Southern New Hampshire by scores of 4-0 and 5-4 on Wednesday.
Game one saw Penmen pitcher Julianna Colbert earn her ninth win of the season by scattering four hits over seven innings. Diaz and freshman shortstop
Emma Callahan each had two hits.
In game two SNHU erased a 4-2 deficit in the seventh inning for a walk-off, 5-4 win.
Bentley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second when
Jess Morrison reached on an error and
Becca Harris and
Hailey Feiler scored on the play.
In the top of the third, Bentley made it 3-0 when a ground out by
Bailey DeLeire scored
Bella Burke.
The Penmen scored one run in the third and fifth innings to cut Bentley's lead to 3-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, Morrison launched a solo home run to left to give the Falcons a 4-2 advantage.
SNHU though rallied in the seventh and a two-run single by Kaysie DeMoura was the winning hit.
Bentley next plays on Saturday at American International.
