SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Emma Callahan hit two home runs, and
Carly DiMento also went yard, but the Bentley softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at American International Saturday afternoon.

Bentley 6, AIC 9
The Falcons began Saturday's second game in a 3-0 deficit after the first inning. However,
Carly DiMento got the Falcons on the board in the second frame.
Bailey DeLeire led off the inning with a single, and she moved into scoring position on a groundout.
Carly DiMento's base hit allowed DeLeire to score Bentley's first run, and defensive miscues allowed DiMento to take third base. From there, DiMento and
Alexa Gross ran a double steal that allowed DiMento to safely touch home plate.
Emma Callahan's first home run was a solo shot to lead off the fifth inning. The big swing cut Bentley's deficit to 9-3.
DiMento belted a solo home run with one out in the sixth inning. Later in the stanza, Callahan crushed a two-run homer.
Callahan finished the game 3-for-4, and DiMento went 2-for-2 with a walk.

Taylor Zajac struck out five batters in a complete-game effort, but the Falcon's couldn't generate much offense in the first game Saturday.
Bentley's lone came in the fourth inning.
Bella Burke hit a one-out double, and
Michelle Diaz promptly followed with an RBI single.
The Falcons were unable to put a runner on base in the final three innings.
Bentley and AIC conclude their series with a doubleheader Sunday, April 12, at 12 p.m.
