Harris hits first career home run, Jorjorian and Zajac earn complete-game wins at AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Becca Harris hit her first career home run, while Sophie Jorjorian and Taylor Zajac both went the distance to lead the Bentley softball team to two wins at American International Sunday afternoon.

Bentley 5, AIC 2
Sophie Jorjorian pitched a complete game, while Becca Harris and Jess Morrison delivered clutch hits to give Bentley a 5-2 win in the first game Sunday.

Jorjorian worked all seven innings in the circle to earn her third win, and fourth complete game, of the season. The two runs scored by AIC were both unearned.

The Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Michelle Diaz led off with a walk, Hailey Feiler singled to center field, and Harris brought both runners home by hitting a double.

Bentley loaded the bases in the fifth inning, and Morrison capitalized. Emma Callahan led off with a single, Harris singled, and Carly DiMento drew a walk. All three runners came home when Morrison clubbed a double to left-center field.

Bentley 6, AIC 3
Becca Harris' first career home run was a two-run shot in the sixth inning, as the Falcons rallied late for a 5-3 win over the Yellow Jackets. Bentley scored all five runs in the sixth inning.

Taylor Zajac didn't allow an earned run during her seven innings in the circle. She surrendered only four hits during her ninth complete game of the season.

Bella Burke led off the fifth inning with a double, and Michelle Diaz reached base to put runners on second and third with nobody out. A base hit by Emma Callahan allowed both runners to score and give Bentley a 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Harris launched a two-run homer to right field.

Later in the sixth, Ella Bunovsky hit an RBI single that scored Carly DiMento.

The Falcons aim to build on Sunday's wins when they head to Worcester for a doubleheader at Assumption Tuesday, April 14.
