MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bentley baseball team slugged seven home runs, including three in the eighth inning, in a dominant 21-10 Northeast-10 win at Saint Anselm Monday afternoon. The Falcons lost the second game of the doubleheader (non-conference), 15-7.

Stan DeMartinis III and Parker Coleman both cleared the outfield fences twice, and both drove in five runs, during the Falcons' blowout win.

DeMartinis crushed a two-run homer in the first inning, and he hit a three-run bomb in the eighth. Coleman also clubbed a three-run homer in the eighth inning. His first home run of the game was a two-run job in the sixth inning.

DeMartinis is up to 11 home runs and 40 RBI this season. Coleman's home runs were his first of the season.

Brendan Sencaj hit a two-run homer during the 10-run eighth inning. It was his ninth home run of the season.

Nick Pappas and Tommy Goonan flexed on the Hawks with solo home runs. Pappas' fifth home run of the season came in the fifth inning, and Goonan's first home of the season came in the following frame.

Sencaj, Goonan, David VanderZouwen, and Curt Heath each collected three hits in the win. Five different Falcons scored three times, each.

Heath posted another three-hit game by going 3-for-3 at the dish, but the Falcons couldn't fully overcome an early 5-0 deficit in the non-conference loss against the Hawks.

St. Anshelm held a five-run lead after two innings, but the Falcons rallied for five runs to tie the game, 5-5, in the top of the fifth. Bentley scored all five runs with two outs on the board.

Sencaj drew a walk and moved into scoring position following a wild pitch with two outs. DeMartinis drew a walk, and Jared Berardino drove in both runners by hitting a double.

Jimmy Mitchell followed by getting hit by a pitch, and he and Berardino both came in to scored when Heath smacked a triple down the right field line. Patrick Purcell then reached on an error that allowed Heath to score and tied the game.

The tie did not last long, however, as St. Anselm scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Bentley returns home Saturday, April 26, for a conference doubleheader against Southern Connecticut.
