WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley football first-year head coach
CJ Scarpa has announced team captains for the 2025 season. The group includes three All-Northeast 10 selections from 2024, and an All-American honoree.
Bentley's 2025 captains are
Mike Boutros,
Pat Damon,
Mike DiPlacido,
Isaiah Gomes, and
Henry Schouten.
"The captains are the heartbeat and gatekeepers to our program," said Scarpa. "They embody the culture of our organization, and allow us to be a player-led team. We couldn't be more thrilled with our captains, which were chosen by their teammates."
Damon, a graduate student from Hanover, Mass., earned Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mention in 2024. That distinction came after he was named to the Super Region 1 Team and All-NE10 First Team. The tight end totaled 411 receiving yards last year, and six of his 38 receptions were touchdowns.
Schouten, a senior linebacker from Englewood, Fla., joined Damon with an All-NE10 First Team selection last year. Schouten ranked second in the NE10 in total tackles (103), third in sacks (5.5) and first in tackles for a loss (13.5). He recently received preseason recognition from D2football.com.
Boutros, a senior offensive lineman from Worcester Mass., earned All-NE10 Second Team in 2024. His efforts helped Bentley achieve 389.8 yards of total offense per game – a mark that ranked second in the conference.
DiPlacido is a graduate student from Hudson, Mass. The defensive back appeared in 10 games in each of the past two seasons. Gomes is a graduate student defensive lineman from Dorchester, Mass. He played in all 10 games last year, totaling five sacks and an interception.
Both Boutros and DiPlacido earned Academic All-District from the College Sports Communicators last year.
Bentley is favored to win the NE10 this year, according to a preseason poll of the conference's head coaches. The Falcons' 2025 season kicks off at home against West Chester, Sept. 6, at 12 p.m.
