WALTHAM, Mass. –
Madeline Krepelka scored 3:49 into the game to give Bentley an early 1-0 lead, but No. 2 ranked Saint Anselm emerged victorious over the Falcons 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Wednesday's game, a non-conference tilt, was the third of five straight against ranked teams for Bentley to begin the season.
Krepelka's goal, assisted by
Gracie Moore, gave Bentley an early lead against the defending Division II national champions. Krepelka, a sophomore, notched her first career goal. For Moore it was her second assist of the season.
The Hawks tied the score a little under five minutes later on a goal by Maggie McCready.
The game remained tied for the rest of the first half, but Saint Anselm took the lead shortly after the start of the third quarter on a goal by Marissa Politano.

Annie Lorenz made seven saves, giving her 22 in three games so far this season.
Bentley will next travel out to Pennsylvania to take on #3 East Stroudsburg on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
