Bentley reunites with former NE10 rival Bryant this Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley football team reunites with a former Northeast 10 rival this Saturday when the Falcons take on FCS program Bryant this Saturday. Kickoff in Smithfield, R.I. is set for 6 p.m.

Former rivals
This Saturday marks the first meeting between Bentley and Bryant since 2007. Bryant won that contest 18 years ago, 29-3. As an athletic department, Bentley and Bryant were among the very first NE10 members, although Bryant didn't have a football program until 1999.  Bryant transitioned to NCAA Division-I in the 2008-09 academic year, and the Bulldogs officially joined the America East conference in the summer of 2022. They previously competed in the Northeast Conference. Bentley is 5-4 all-time against Bryant.

A rare taste of D-I
The last time Bentley played against a D-I program was in 2010. Central Connecticut beat the Falcons, 45-14.

Let it all out
Henry Schouten rounded out his junior season as an All-NE10 First Team selection. The linebacker began his senior season as the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week. Schouten totaled 16 tackles (10 solo) during Bentley's season-opening game against West Chester.

One-two punch
Joshua Compoh and Telly Edouard combined for 87 rushing yards on 14 carries (6.2 YPC) against West Chester. Compoh finished with 49 yards on nine carries, and Edouard totaled 38 yards on five carries. Edouard had a big 27-yard run down to the one-yard line in the first quarter. It set up a touchdown rush by Pat Damon, who was lined up at fullback in the goal-line formation.

Youth under center
Luke Warnock became the first Bentley sophomore since 2018 to start a game at quarterback. The last Falcon to do it was Stephen Sturm, who ended being a three-year starter. Warnock completed 12 of 25 pass attempts for 90 yards against West Chester in the season opener.

He's got the goods
Junior Isaiah Osgood made the best of first snap of 2025. With five minutes left in the second quarter, Osgood entered the game in shotgun formation. It was a designed QB draw. He took the play up the middle, then sprinted down the home sideline for a 43-yard touchdown. The big play gave the Falcons a 13-10 lead.

Lead by example
Graduate captain Mike DiPlacido started the 2025 season with 10 tackles against West Chester. Diplacido has played in every game for Bentley since the start of the 2023 season.

Scouting Bryant (1-1)
The Bulldogs began their season with a 19-3 loss at New Mexico State (Aug. 30), but they bounced back with a 27-26 win at UMass (27-26). Quarterback Brennan Myer has completed 54.6-percent of his pass attempts for 500 yards this season. He has three touchdown passes to three interceptions. Elijah Elliott has a team-high 27 carries for 74 yards. Zyheem Collick has been the go-to receivers for big plays, totaling 140 yards on only five catches. Tristen Riley has 10 catches for 115 yards this season. Defensively, Michael Otty has two sacks, and Azarel Juste has two interceptions.
