WALTHAM, Mass. – Tory Vitko is the Northeast 10 Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week, and
Katelyn Rutledge earned NE10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
NE10 Release
The Falcon duo had a standout week when the Bentley volleyball team competed in the Colorado Premier Challenge for the first time in program history. The elite, annual in-season tournament featured eight nationally-ranked teams this year.Â
Vitko totaled a season-high 43 assists against No. 5 Texas Western A&M, and she tallied another 41 assists against Lewis. Vitko also notched her fourth double-double of the season with 32 assists and 10 digs against No. 15 Point Loma.
Rutledge did better than holding her own against some of the nation's top teams. She put away 12 kills against both No. 5 West Texas A&M and No. 15 Point Loma, while totaling nine blocks in those two matches. She also added 10 kills against Lewis.
Bentley  has now captured five NE10 weekly honors in this young season. Last week – in addition to Vitko's honor –
Elizabeth Blinn was the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week, and
Lulu Pavan was the NE10 Rookie of the Week.
The Falcons return to action on the east coast for the International Volleyball Hall of Fame East Region Clash hosted by American International, Sept. 19-20. Â
