SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Bentley volleyball head coach
Joey Pacis reached his 200
th career victory with the Falcons Saturday, as Bentley beat both Bridgeport and American International during the final day of the
Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) East Region Clash hosted by AIC.
Pacis is in his 12
th season as Bentley's head coach. He has a 200-111 record (.643) during his tenure. Pacis led Bentley to its first-ever NCAA East Regional championship in 2023, and the program successfully defended the title in 2024. During last year's NCAA run, Pacis and the Falcons reached the NCAA Semifinals for the first time.
Saturday morning, the Falcons topped Bridgeport in four sets (25-19, 25-13, 23-25, 25-12).
Elizabeth Blinn,
Lulu Pavan, and
Sophia Poehlein each put away 10 kills. Pavan added a season-high five service aces.
Later in the day, the Falcons swept AIC (25-16, 25-20, 25-16). It was a rematch of last year's NCAA East Regional title match that Bentley won in five sets. The Falcons hit .323, while limiting the Yellow Jackets to a lowly .053 hitting percentage. Poehlein and Paven both finished with exactly 10 kills once again.
Blinn came up with nine blocks, marking her third match this season with nine or more blocks. She leads the Northeast 10 in blocks per set (1.73) this season.
The Falcons make their 2025 home debut in the new Dana Gym Thursday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.
