WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley football team heads to Western Mass. Saturday, Sept. 27, for a 12 p.m. Northeast 10 kickoff at American International.
Recent history
Bentley has won three of its last four games against American International. The outlier during that span is Nov. 2022 when the Yellow Jackets came away with an 18-10 win in Waltham. From 2021 through 2024, the Falcons are averaging 33.5 points per game against AIC.
Return to form
Graduate wide receiver
Rashon Bradford had his first 100-yard game of the season against Franklin Pierce last week (Sept. 20). The 2024 NE10 MVP reeled in nine catches for 114 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens. In addition to his MVP nod last year, Bradford received a Don Hansen All-American honor.
A diamond at tight end
Graduate tight end
Pat Damon leads the NE10 in receptions (17) and ranks fifth in receiving yards (160). After opening the season with just three catches against West Chester (Sept. 6), Damon posted seven catches against both Bryant and Franklin Pierce. He has a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown to his credit this season. Like
Rashon Bradford last year, Damon was an All-NE10 First Team selection and Don Hansen All-American honoree.
Making noise
Henry Schouten is tied for the NE10 lead in tackles with 35, and his 20 solo tackles stand alone atop the conference. The senior linebacker was an All-NE10 First Team honoree in 2024, when he ranked second in tackles with an even 100.
Firsts for Warnock
Luke Warnock – Bentley's first sophomore starting quarterback since 2018 – threw his first two career touchdown passes last week against Franklin Pierce. The first one was a six-yard connection with
Rashon Bradford, and the second was a 10-yard pass to
Pat Damon.
Scouting AIC (0-3, 0-1 NE10)
The winless Yellow Jackets held tight at Southern Connecticut last week (Sept. 20), but came up just short in a 10-3 loss. Quarterback Connor Dietz is the conference's fifth-leading rusher with 202 yards on the ground. In the second game of the season against Assumption, AIC pounded the ball on the ground. The Yellow Jackets carried the ball 48 times for 278 yards, but ultimately lost by a score of 39-21. Dietz had 26 carries for 161 yards against Assumption. Defensively, Jakkai Stith's 28 tackles rank fourth in the NE10.
